About the project

I am delighted to announce Foxhill Forum has been awarded £338,870 including 15K of revenue funding by the Big Lottery Fund through its Reaching Communities Buildings Programme.

The capital funding awarded to the In-volve Project will enable us to develop the existing building at 31-33 Wolfe Road into an accessible community hub for the local community. The funding will enable us to bring about

The capital funding awarded to the in-volve project will enable us to develop the existing building at 31-33 Wolfe Road into an accessible community hub for the local community. The funding will enable us to bring about the following key improvements to this well used facility:

• An eight person lift and stair well uniting the two floors together and help create a Community Hub
• A new reception/welcome area located on the ground floor creating one point of access to the building
• Improved frontage giving prominence to the Hub including glass canopy over the new automatic doors making the building more welcoming
• Creation of a Healthy Eating Café located on the ground floor (currently the ICT Suite) creating the social heart to the building including commercial kitchen/food preparation area with seating for a minimum of 20 people inside and some capacity outside. The facility will provide a training/learning resource for local people around Healthy Eating. The current ICT will relocate into new accommodation complementing other refurbished community space/rooms.
• Refurbishment of Activity Hall and Young Children’s room developed into a Family Well-Being Room

The above will be complemented by:

• Improved lighting, energy saving measures, larger windows, complete re-paint
• Furniture, Fittings and a range of equipment for activities & services including commercial café equipment, health and well-being equipment including art easels, treadmill, bikes, boxing equipment, mobile stage for performances, iPads, DJ/Music kit, bean bag furniture for families and small equipment for young children.

As I’m sure you can imagine this is an exciting time for everyone associated with the Forum. On completion of works we envisage an expansion in our programme of activities and services.
